5 Places Every Man Should Visit

People are working harder than ever, which makes the sacred institution known as “vacation” even more important. It’s necessary to take a pause from the daily grind and enjoy the fruits of your labor while exploring the world outside of your cubicle.

A vacation is also an ideal way to channel the spirit of adventure that resides in the hearts of men everywhere. Here are five must-see places, perfect for unleashing the adventurer in every man.

Glacier National Park, Montana

Locals affectionately refer to Montana as the “Last Best Place” and the 1 million acre Glacier National Park serves as emphatic proof of the lofty claim. Nestled near the border of Canada, getting to the park is an adventure in and of itself.
Summer is the prime time to visit Glacier because that’s when the entirety of the 50-mile Going-to-the-Sun Road is open. Driving the road will take you to hundreds of pristine mountain lakes, waterfalls, and within eyesight of a variety of wild animals. There are countless hikes, and other recreational opportunities like fishing, along the way.
If you go, Montana’s harsh winters might be the only thing to send you back home.

Pamplona, Spain

Adrenaline rushes are a part of any epic vacation, and the annual running of the bulls in Pamplona is probably at the top of the list if you’re looking for excitement. In between exploring the amazing cuisine and culture of Spain, take to the the historic streets with thousands of other adrenaline junkies and prepare to run once the bulls are unleashed. Surviving this right of passage, which takes place in July during the Festival de San Fermin, will be life changing. Once that’s checked off the bucket list, feel free to enjoy a well-earned cool down at Pamplona’s nearby beaches.

Yosemite National Park, California

There is something in our DNA that makes us long for adventures in the mountains. Exploring the many trails, waterfalls, and rock formations in Yosemite will make you feel as though you’ve gone back to your roots. Sites like El Capitan, Half Dome, and Tuolumne Meadows are must sees during your trip in between spending time around the campfire under a star-filled sky.
But, as the epic-beard-having explorer of Yosemite – John Muir – said, every inch of the park is inspiring and enriching:
I would advise sitting from morning till night under some willow bush on the river bank where there is a wide view. This will be ‘doing the valley’ far more effectively than riding along trails in constant motion from point to point. The entire valley is made up of ‘points of interest.”

Havana, Cuba

Only recently becoming easily accessible to Americans, Havana is a city untouched by time. Colorful buildings and streets filled with classic cars will serve as a backdrop to a vibrant, Rum-soaked nightlife. Kick back with a famous Cuban cigar next to the ocean and discover why the town, and country as a whole, has inspired authors and artists for generations.

Las Vegas, Nevada

This might seem like a no-brainer, and it really should be. The City of Sin has everything required for an epic weekend or more of debauchery and bonding with friends — all in one convenient location.

Grab a group of dudes, get a room (it can’t hurt to try to spring for some sort of epic suite). Once you hit town, get ready to experience everything from world-class cuisine, gambling, insane parties and…well all those other things the “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas” cliche refers to.
